The National Library of Israel – Portal Page
The National Library designed and created its portal pages from the perspective of a “long tail” strategy to expose users to the diversity of topics that the Library provides added value to users through various search engines.
These pages are designed in accordance with best practices of SEO to allow organic traffic straight from search engines to these pages.
Portal pages are created in two ways, manually (by content editors) and automatically (by automated processes that scan the library’s databases according to the topics entered in them and create the pages).
After the launch of these pages, the number of entries from search engines to these pages increased significantly, and the number of new users who learn about the National Library through “casual” searches in search engines also increased significantly.
